Neither Here Nor There: Reclaiming the Third Culture Body is a 2-hour live online workshop hosted by Micheline Maalouf on Thursday, March 26 at 10:00 AM Eastern (EST), exploring what it means to live between worlds and how third culture stress shows up in the nervous system and body. This therapist-led experience offers culturally grounded, non-religious somatic tools to help you feel more rooted, regulated, and at home within yourself, without needing to pick a side.

Part 1: Setting the Container
We’ll begin by orienting to the space and setting clear expectations so your nervous system can settle. Camera and sharing are optional, and nothing will be asked of you without consent.
Part 2: Understanding the Third Culture Body
You’ll learn how diaspora and third culture experiences can create chronic stress patterns in the body, including hypervigilance, guilt, identity confusion, people pleasing, and feeling like you are always translating yourself. We’ll explore how belonging, loyalty, and pressure can shape your nervous system responses, not just your thoughts.
Part 3: Gentle Somatic Exploration
You’ll be guided through accessible, culturally grounded somatic practices to notice where the in between experience lives in your body. Movements are slow, optional, and adaptable seated or standing. This is not about performing emotions. It is about building safety, choice, and self trust from the inside out.
Part 4: Integration
We’ll pause to integrate what was experienced and connect it to everyday life, including family dynamics, relationships, work, and boundaries. You’ll leave with language and practices you can return to when you feel pulled, tense, or disconnected.
Part 5: Live Q&A (time optional)
We’ll close with live Q&A and reflection. Sharing is optional. You are welcome to simply listen.
