What We’ll Cover in the 90-Minute Workshop
Ā
The Angry Arab Eldest Daughter is a 90-minute live workshop hosted by Micheline Maalouf, exploring how anger forms in Arab eldest daughters through responsibility, parentification, and attachment. This therapist-led experience offers culturally grounded, non-religious somatic tools to understand how anger and boundary patterns live in the body, and how to work with them gently, without suppressing emotion or losing yourself.
Part 1: Setting the Container
We’ll begin by orienting to the space and setting clear expectations so your nervous system can settle. Camera and sharing are optional, and nothing will be asked of you without consent.
Part 2: Understanding Anger in Arab Eldest Daughters
You’ll learn how anger often forms through responsibility, parentification, and attachment patterns in Arab families. We’ll explore why boundaries can feel difficult, why guilt often follows anger, and how these patterns live in the body rather than just the mind.
Part 3: Gentle Somatic Exploration
You’ll be guided through accessible, culturally grounded somatic practices to notice how anger and protection show up in your body. Movements are slow, optional, and adaptable seated or standing. This is not about releasing or performing anger, but about understanding it with more choice and safety.
Part 4: Integration
We’ll pause to integrate what was experienced and connect it to everyday life, relationships, and boundaries. You’ll leave with language and awareness you can carry forward.
Part 5: Live Q&A (30 minutes)
The final 30 minutes are reserved for live questions. You may ask questions out loud or in the chat. Participation is optional, and questions are answered in a general, educational way rather than as individual therapy.
